Well, TIS-1000 or Shenzen I/O both seem rather unforgiving to me. I've played many that don't, and not found another that's worth mentioning. Lightbot is the best non-Zachtronics programming game I've played, because it's got a decent user interface. On the other hand, it's less than six months old, so we can't talk about it.įactorio does some of the same things as the Zachtronics games, though it's more building a machine for the sake of building a machine rather than solving a puzzle. It's also much the prettiest, and it's most satisfying watching your mechanical jewelbox passing its marbles/alchemical reagents about. I don't think you'll need to be a programmer to understand it (though I am, so it's hard to tell). There are fewer constraints than most of the others, so if you want or need to build an enormous sprawling solution, then you can.
